All employees are entitled to respect and to work in a safe environment, free from all forms of harassment. Bemis’ harassment policy does not tolerate verbal or physical conduct by any employee that harasses, disrupts or interferes with another employee’s work performance or that creates an intimidating, offensive or hostile environment. Bemis expressly prohibits any form of unlawful employee harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, status as a Vietnam-era or special disabled veteran, or status in any group protected by federal, state or local law. Improper interference with the ability of Bemis employees to perform their expected job duties will not be tolerated.
Additionally, Bemis is committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees, which includes a workplace that is free from any form of violence against any employee. Violence includes, but is not limited to, threatening and intimidating behaviors, verbal comments, physical abuse, use or the threat of use of weapons, bringing any type of weapon onto company property, vandalism, arson, sabotage or any other act that is deemed by management to be inappropriate in this regard.

In addition to safety concerns, Bemis also believes in the importance of supporting employees in their pursuit of healthy lifestyles by providing preventive health programs. Since 2004, Bemis U.S. employees have been provided access to the Kersh Wellness program. 2008 marked nearly 100% participation in the Kersh Wellness program. It is our hope that, with the resources provided by Kersh through Bemis, employee awareness will lead to healthier, happier lives.
In recognition of our exemplary wellness program, Bemis received a 2008 Health at Work Silver Award from ComPsych® Corp. Award winners are chosen based on the comprehensiveness, delivery, promotion, and participation rates in their wellness programs, and we are proud to be among the companies singled out for our efforts to encourage our employees to make healthy lifestyle changes.
