General Grant Policies and Guidelines

The basis for Bemis Company Foundation's charitable contributions is 2 percent of company domestic pre-tax profits up to $2.5 million. Charitable grants are made only to organizations with tax-exempt status.

• Our priority is to give and support those communities in which we operate.
• Special consideration is given to those institutions which are supported by our employees through their personal contributions of time and/or money.
• The following general guidelines have been established for the distribution of charitable contributions: 50% Social Welfare and Health, 40% Educational, and 10% Cultural and Civic.
• With full realization that it is never possible to support all programs of merit, Bemis Company encourages innovative approaches to effectively serve people.
• Bemis does not make grants to:
  • Individuals
  • Organizations for religious or political purposes, either for lobbying efforts or campaigns.

Bemis generally does not make grants for educational capital funds programs, endowment purposes, or for trips or tours. No grants will be made for more than three years.
