How do you inject new life into an already trusted brand? One leading Irish retailer could write a how-to book on the topic.
With the knowledge that the look and feel of paper speaks volumes to choosy consumers, they needed a way to create visual an tactile experience of paper without actually using the millennia-old material itself.
Long story short: they decided to take their sliced processed meat product to new heights with a Paper-Like™ makeover.  The choice was a simple one: Paper-Like™’s recloseable PET sealant technology, integrating UV barrier and AF coating, presented a standard machinability offering standard line speed, perfect winding, perfect film flatness, great seal integrity and an intertie to water.
On top of that Bemis printing capabilities would make it easy to achieve any window type, making the brand refresh complete – consumers got the same taste but in a package that emanated safety, sleekness and quality.
They already liked the product and now had a few more reasons to LOVE it.
Oh and something else happened…
Paper-Like™ paper alternative does more than just look and feel like paper. It also offers a considerable weight reduction in comparison with paper laminates, leading to material savings, reduced transport cost, and lower eco-taxes. We’re talking more environmental benefits than you can shake a stick at, and surely more than enough to scoop up a runner-up award in Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards, which it did July 2016.
