Not all meat packages are created equal. At least that’s what one of the largest food processors of pulled pork and beef in Finland found out. Although similar in preparation, beef and pork have one significant difference: seasoning.

While the average person may not realise that beef with brine and pork with pepper are completely different in terms of packaging needs, the experts at Bemis recognised immediately the need for a packaging makeover.

Because beef has brine, the brine compromises the seal integrity of most packaging. That leads to manufacturing and customer concern that their meat might leak everywhere. However, with minimal machine adjustments and quick production, the client made the strategic switch to Bemis OvenRite® 40 top and 200 base films.

Because of OvenRite®’s durable, ovenable qualities, leakage is practically eliminated. The film was also more compatible with the client’s machinery, leading to a more stable packaging process and faster deliveries.
