NEENAH, WISCONSIN, August 2, 2007 – Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE: BMS) announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 21 cents per share.   The dividend is payable September 4, 2007, to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 17, 2007.

In addition, the Board authorized the repurchase of five million shares of Bemis Company stock, supplementing the current buyback authorization, which will be substantially exhausted by the accelerated share repurchase transaction entered into on July 31, 2007.  This approval enables Bemis to use a portion of its free cash flow to repurchase shares from time to time, based on market conditions.  The shares may be purchased in open market or privately negotiated transactions.
